My Background:
I graduated in May of 2009 from the University of Oklahoma's Health Science Center with my bachelor of science in nursing (BSN). In July of 2009 I completed my license exams to become a registered nurse (RN). Since finishing school, I have been continuing my education in labor and delivery to become a DONA certified birth doula. As of December 2012, I am also a certified breasfeeding educator (CBE). I have assisted in 40+ births as a doula. I am passionate about birth and believe mothers were created with the wisdom and energy necessary to have positive and empowering birth experience. I consider it an honor to be a part of these birth stories.
Training and Experience:
I am a registered nurse with my bachelor's in nursing (RN, BSN). I maintain current CPR training through American Red Cross. I attended a DONA certified birth doula training in March of 2010. I am a member of Doula Association of Central Oklahoma (DACO). I have had experience in medicated and non-medicated births, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, VBAC's (vaginal birth after cesarean), short and extended labors. In addition, I have worked with women placing their babies for adoption.
